BlackBerry 10 Last Chance Port-A-Thon, US$2M up for grabs

BlackBerry 10Research In Motion is holding the BlackBerry 10 Last Chance Port-A-Thon with rewards of up to US$2 million available.

Just last weekend, the BlackBerry developer community submitted over 15,000 apps to App World in 37.5 hours. Riding on this success, and looking to keep the hype up for the upcoming BlackBerry 10 launch, Research In Motion will be holding the Last Chance Port-A-Thon starting on January 19, 2013 (1:00am GMT +8:00// 12:00pm ET ­ 18th January)

The Port-A-Thon which will be a virtual event. Interested developers will be able to log in remotely to have access to technical support from experts for the entire 36 hours of the event.

Research In Motion will also reward developers for their efforts. If a developer ports one or more approved application, he or she will receive US$100 per eligible application to a maximum of 20 application per vendor. Those that submit five or more applications stand a chance to win one of 250 Limited Edition BlackBerry 10 devices in a random draw. A total of US$2 million is available for distribution at this Port-A-Thon. To qualify for the rewards, developers must register on the Last Chance Port-A-Thon website.
