Microsoft releases Office 365 Home Premium

Microsoft releases Office 365 Home Premium, a revamped version of the company’s leading Office product line. In response to society’s current busy lifestyles, Office 365 Home Premium is a cloud service specially designed to help juggle mounting workload and family responsibilities. What are in this offering? It includes the most updated and complete set of Office applications. Users can work across up to five devices from Windows tablets to PCs and Macs. It also comes with extra SkyDrive storage and Skype calling, perfect for keeping in touch with your loved ones. Microsoft provides all these for S$138.00 for an annual subscription which is equivalent to S$11.50 per month. If students think that this may be a bit too pricey for them, fret not as Microsoft also caters to students by releasing Office 265 University for college students, faculty member and staff at a price of S$108.00 for a four year subscription which is equivalent to S$2.25 per month. There are also updated versions of Office Home and Student 2013, Office Home and Business 2013, and Office Professional 2013 in Singapore.

This updated release is marketed following a result in a recent global survey conducted by Microsoft which revealed that nearly 60 percent of the respondents don’t have the time to do the things they want to do and more than 80 percent admitted that they were dependent on technology to ease their lives. Hence the release of Office 365 is designed to help people in getting tasks done even when they are on the move. The new Office 365 Home Premium helps in getting things done by working across devices as aforementioned and with Office Web app, users can create, read, edit and share Office docs. It is a cloud service hence users documents are readily available anywhere at all. That’s not all as it delivers new capabilities such as People Card, Read Mode, Last Location, PDF Reflow, Presenter View and FlashFill. Office 365 Home Premium is available in 162 markets in 21 languages.

Microsoft will also upgrade Office 365 multiple times per year instead of the conventional three-year release cycle. According to John Fernandes, Chief Marketing & Operations Officer, Microsoft Singapore, it is important to follow up constant changes with people’s needs.

Pricing and Availability

The new Office is available today at all authorized retailers:

Office 365 Home Premium – S$138 per year for up to five Windows PCs or tablets or Macs

Office 365 University – S$108 for 4 years for up to two Windows PCs or tablets or Macs

Office Home & Student 2013 – S$189

Office Home & Business 2013 – S$299

Office Professional 2013 – S$549
